The Reds will take on Palace at Anfield in the Premier League, and former Liverpool star Owen has backed them to pick up all three points.
“Liverpool would hardly have had the ideal preparation for this, having played in Russia on Thursday night, but there is no denying that Klopp has made an immediate impact,” the former Manchester United striker wrote on Colossusbets.com.
“And I have to fancy the Reds to see off Crystal Palace, either 2-1 or 1-0. They still have a long way to go but that come-from-behind 3-1 win at Chelsea last week would have done wonders for morale.
“Palace won’t be pushovers though, and won both of their league fixtures against Liverpool 3-1 last season. And they were the better side in a 0-0 draw with Man Utd last week.
“But they are short of goals at the moment and I favour the home side, even though that Europa League trip is clearly a negative.”
Liverpool will head into today’s match on the back of a 1-0 victory over Rubin Kazan away from home in Russia in the Europa League Group B.
The win on Thursday evening was the Merseyside outfit’s third in a row in all competitions, and new manager Jurgen Klopp is beginning to make his mark.
Meanwhile, Palace will head into the encounter at Anfield on the back of a goalless draw with Manchester United at Selhurst Park.
Alan Pardew’s side appear to have slow down a bit after a brilliant start to the season.
Since winning 2-0 against West Bromwich Albion at the start of October, the Eagles have lost to West Ham United, Leicester City and Manchester City (League Cup).
