The attacking midfielder scored his first goal for the club.
The club have been criticised in recent times for their lack of attacking football under Louis van Gaal and yesterday the screams of attack again came from the Old Trafford faithful.
But it was a better performance than in recent weeks and the performance of one man in particular had United fans talking. Manchester United's reputation for giving homegrown youngsters a chance has taken a hit in recent times but Jesse Lingard is now making an impact.
He was handed a start in Louis van Gaal's first game in charge of United last season but he suffered a knee injury that derailed the majority of his season.
In recent weeks he has clearly impressed in training and has been given a chance in the first-team in recent weeks. He has played in United's last seven games and yesterday was the man-of-the-match as he scored the opening goal with a sublime curling effort from outside the box.
He clearly impressed United fans, who took to Twitter to comment on his performance...

The boy has a huge future for us. Depay needs to watch and learn from Lingard. To think he's a product of our academy makes it awesome #mufc— DeeBasler (@donbret) November 7, 2015
