Lewis Cook says Alex Mowatt was his man-of-the-match against Huddersfield

The midfielder scored yet another wonderstrike for Leeds.

Leeds United picked up a good win in the Championship this weekend gone with a 3-0 win over their West Yorkshire rivals Huddersfield Town.

It was a comfortable result that followed a recent triumph over Cardiff City at Elland Road - helping Leeds put some of the off-field problems behind them for the time being.

Goals from Mirco Antenucci and Chris Wood on the stroke of half-time had Leeds in control before Alex Mowatt ended the game as a contest.

He has scored a screamer against Cardiff in the week and followed it up with yet another wonderful strike against The Terriers.

His midfield partner Lewis Cook is certainly impressed. Speaking to BBC Radio Leeds after the game Cook stated on the subject of Mowatt's goal:

"He'll just get on with it I am sure. He is not bragging about it. But inside I bet he is real proud of himself and we're all proud of him as well for scoring two goals like that in a row as well.

"There's more to come from him as well I think.

"My man of the match, I'd probably go with Mowatt I think. To score a goal like that he has got to be man of the match."

He is right to be proud of his team-mate. Mowatt found himself under the spotlight earlier this season for not matching the heights he set for himself in an excellent 2014-15 season.

Hopefully he can continue to perform in this way and take Leeds United toward a high finish in the Championship this season.
