Ian Wright and Alan Shearer impressed by Everton's Romelu Lukaku

Romelu Lukaku has scored nine goals for Everton so far this season.

Ian Wright and Alan Shearer have both raved about Everton striker Romelu Lukaku on BBC's Match of the Day.

The Toffees have made a bright start to their Premier League campaign, and they drew their latest match 1-1 with West Ham United.

In the fixture Lukaku scored Roberto Martinez’s side’s goal, and Wright was very impressed by the forward’s display.

“There’s been a £45 million interest from PSG from him,” Wright said. “He’s getting that air about him. You can feel like he thinks ‘I’m going into this game, and I’m going to score today.”

Shearer agreed with his pundit, suggesting that Lukaku has showed a lot of signs of progression this term.

“He’s maturing as a centre-forward,” the former Newcastle United striker said. “He’s starting to learn the position a lot more.”

Lukaku’s goal against West Ham was his seventh in as many games against the London club, and it took his tally to nine for the new term.

The 22-year-old has looked very consistent so far, and he is continuing to establish a reputation as one of the most exciting young talents in the Premier League.

Lukaku is playing a key role for Everton, despite his tender years, and he will be keen to continue hitting the back of the net as the season progresses.
