Newcastle United defeated Bournemouth 1-0 at the Vitality Stadium in the Premier League on Saturday.

Newcastle United defender Chancel Mbemba has taken to social networking site Twitter to thank the fans for singing his name on Saturday afternoon.

The DR Congo international defender featured for the Magpies against Bournemouth away from home at the Vitality Stadium in the Premier League.

The 21-year-old played well throughout the match, and the Newcastle fans were so impressed that they chanted his name.

Mbemba, who joined Newcastle from Belgian giants Anderlecht in the summer transfer window, has taken to Twitter to acknowledge the fans’ faith in him.

Newcastle registered a narrow 1-0 win against Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium, thanks to Spanish forward Ayoze Perez’s goal in the 27th minute.

Steve McClaren’s side are 17th in the Premier League table at the moment with 10 points from 12 matches, just two points above the relegation zone.

The Magpies will take on Leicester City at St. James’ Park in the league after the two-week international break.
