What now for Tottenham Hotspur youngster Shaq Coulthirst?

The striker is back at the club after a poor spell with Wigan Athletic.

Tottenham Hotspur have developed a reputation for bringing through young talent in recent years. One name that it is hoped can become a Spurs first-teamer is Shaq Coulthirst.

This summer he was loaned out to Wigan Athletic of League One after previous spells with the likes of Leyton Orient, Torquay United, Southend United and York City.

But Coulthirst has now been recalled by Spurs after a poor time at the DW Stadium for the former England under-19 international.

He has suffered with injuries this term and the 21-year-old managed just 53 minutes of football with Wigan since August.

So what does the future hold for this striker?

As a teenager he was tipped for stardom and even linked with Barcelona after starring in the NextGen Series for Spurs.

But so far he has failed to excel on loan deals away from the club and has not progressed like contemporary Alex Pritchard.

His contract expires in the summer and he now faces a make-or-break spell at the club.

Spurs are light in attacking options so Coulthirst might just get some playing time in the Spurs first-team.

But he must remain fit and take his chance when they come, or Coulthirst's future at Tottenham looks bleak.
