Tottenham and Liverpool tracking Khouma Babacar - report

talkSPORT claim the Premier League duo are hot on the heels of the Fiorentina attacker.

Both Tottenham and Liverpool are interested in signing Fiorentina’s highly-rated centre forward Khouma Babacar, according to talkSPORT.

The 22-year-old is a burgeoning talent in the Italian game and has helped the Viola to top of the Serie A table with a number of strong performances this season.

Babacar broke into the Stadio Artemio Franchi first-team as a 16-year-old, but was farmed out to Modena for a number of seasons to get regular first-team football.

Upon his return to Fiorentina last term, the Senegalese striker netted seven Serie A goals and has started this term with four more from six starts.

talkSPORT claim that Spurs and Liverpool both have been tracking Babacar’s progress and would be interested in a January raid for the African powerhouse.

The 22-year-old is not always guaranteed a starting role at his current employers, with Nikola Kalinic more often than not getting the nod as the lone striker for Paulo Sousa’s men.

Spurs are overly reliant on Harry Kane in the centre forward role, with a lack of back-up options available to Mauricio Pochettino.

Liverpool meanwhile have injury concerns in attack with the likes of Danny Ings, Daniel Sturridge and Christian Benteke all spending time on the sidelines of late.
