The Watford goalkeeper erred against Leicester, prompting a few jokes from fans of his former club Tottenham Hotspur.

Heurelho Gomes has done brilliantly since leaving Tottenham for Watford. This season in particular, the Brazilian has been trustworthy and very solid indeed.

Against Leicester City, however, the Hornets shot stopper erred, fumbling as the Foxes took the lead.

And Tottenham fans couldn't help but take delight on Twitter as a result.

To the 34-year-old's credit, that kind of error has become less of a regular occurrence in his game and he took to social media himself after the game to apologise to Watford fans.

They backed him and it is refreshing to see such committed support from fans.

But Spurs supporters have no obligation to back the Brazilian anymore! Gomes has taken every opportunity to put Tottenham down since leaving north London and here was a little opportunity for some fans to take a little dig back.

Gomes' mistake allowed Leicester to take a 1-0 lead, before they then doubled that lead and Watford could only manage a late consolation goal.
