Report: Inter Milan sporting director scouting Tottenham Hotspur stars Jan Vertonghen and Erik Lamela

The Tottenham duo are both wanted by the Italian giants.

Reports in Italy are suggesting that Inter Milan are in the process of scouting two Tottenham Hotspur players.

It is reported by Forza Italian Football that Inter's sporting director Piero Ausilio headed to London this week to cast his eye over several players.

He took in the Chelsea v Dynamo Kiev game and then headed to watch Tottenham v Anderlecht on Thursday evening.

He was keeping an eye on Youri Tielemans and Leander Dendoncker of the Belgian side and whilst there he also tracked the performances of Erik Lamela and Jan Vertonghen.

The Argentine has been heavily linked with Inter Milan in the past and has previously played in Italy with Roma.

Vertongen meanwhile is wanted because of his versatility and to strengthen the Inter defence.

Tottenham would however be unlikely to sell the Belgian. If they did it would certainly be at a price that Inter would not be able afford.

Lamela might have been sold a few months ago but he has come good in recent weeks and whether he remains potentially expendable seems unlikely.

Tottenham have the clout to keep the pair and it would be an odd move to head to Italy at this point in their respective Spurs careers.

So Inter can look all they like, but it would certainly be a strange move from either.
