The former Spurs goalkeeper has lavished praise on his fellow stopper.
The France international joined the North London club from Lyon and has proven himself as one of the best stoppers in the Premier League over recent seasons.
Jennings, who played for Spurs for 13 years but also stepped out for rivals Arsenal after the Lilywhites allowed him to leave, has stated that the current goalkeeper has been brilliant for the club this season.
The Northern Irishman has stated that Lloris should be held in the same regard as some of the best custodians to play at White Hart Lane over the club’s illustrious and silverware-laden history.
“Hugo’s been absolutely brilliant for us,” Jennings told Tottenham Journal.
“I don’t know how many points he’s saved us but he’s made unbelievable saves in every game.
“[In terms of Tottenham’s best goalkeepers], Ray Clemence did a brilliant job as well - what he’s achieved speaks for itself - but Hugo’s right there. You’d just be so happy to have someone like Hugo there behind you every week.
“It’s his reading of the game, his agility. He just reads situations and he’s got great experience as well, playing at the highest level every year with France.
“He’s a really lovely, down-to-earth guy. He doesn’t get carried away. As goalkeepers you don’t get carried away with any situations. One minute you’re on a high and you make an unbelievable save, and then the next minute you’re on the floor, so you’ve got to keep your feet on the ground.”
Lloris will need to be at his best this weekend as Tottenham take on Arsenal in the North London Derby at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.
The French goalkeeper and everyone else at White Hart Lane is desperate for Champions League football, with a win on enemy territory the perfect way to stake their claim for a top-four finish this season.
