Leeds United defeated Huddersfield Town 3-0 in the Championship on Saturday.

Leeds United’s first-half performance against Huddersfield Town on Saturday afternoon impressed Nigel Martyn.

Martyn is one of the greatest goalkeepers in Leeds’s history and played for the West Yorkshire outfit from 1996 to 2003.

The former England international was following the Championship game between Huddersfield and Leeds at the John Smith’s Stadium.

The 49-year-old took to Twitter at the half-time interval to send a cheeky message to Andrew Gale, who is an English first-class cricketer and a well-known Huddersfield fan.

Leeds were 2-0 up at the break against Huddersfield, thanks to late goals from Mirco Antenucci and Chris Wood.

Alex Mowatt struck a stunning long-range third in the 54th minute, as Steve Evans’s side won the derby 3-0.

Over the course of the 90 minutes at the John Smith’s Stadium, visitors Leeds had 37% of the possession, took eight shots of which four were on target, and earned six corners.
