Southampton legend Matt Le Tissier said on the Soccer Saturday show on Sky Sports News HQ on Saturday afternoon that Mesut Ozil is more creative than Christian Eriksen.
When asked to compare Arsenal attacking midfielder Ozil and Tottenham Hotspur playmaker Eriksen, Le Tissier said: “I think they are slightly different type of players.
“I think they both give good qualities to their side, they are both pretty good on the ball, but I think Ozil is probably a little bit more creative.
“Eriksen is probably better at set-pieces, very good free-kick taker, one of the best I have seen in terms of his free kicks.”
Ozil and Eriksen will face each other on Sunday during the North London derby at the Emirates Stadium.
Both the two attacking players will be looking to show in the Premier League encounter what they are capable of.
Germany international Ozil has scored one goal and created 47 chances in 10 Premier League appearances so far this season.
The former Real Madrid star has a pass accuracy of 89% and a shot accuracy of 67%, and has won one header, 12 dribbles and nine tackles.
Eriksen, who has struggled with injuries this season, has scored two goals and created 24 chances in eight league matches for Tottenham.
The Denmark international has a pass accuracy of 78% and a shot accuracy of 50%, and has won two headers, eight dribbles and 12 tackles.
