Liverpool fans react on Twitter to potential Alexandre Pato deal

Liverpool reportedly have an agreement in place to buy Alexandre Pato.

According to a report in the Italian publication Tuttomercatoweb, Liverpool have an agreement in principle to sign Corinthians striker Alexandre Pato.

The Brazil international has gone off the radar somewhat in recent seasons after he opted to leave Italian giants AC Milan for a controversial switch back to his native Brazil.

For a player of his talent and potential, going back to South America at such a young age was generally viewed as bizarre among supporters pleading for their club to take a chance on him.

Still, he seemingly hasn’t lost his ability to wreak havoc in the final third as a loan spell to fellow Brazilian outfit Sao Paulo has coincided with an excellent goal scoring return throughout 2015.

TMW claim fellow Premier League outfits Tottenham Hotspur and Everton previously held talks over a potential switch, but his destination is set to be Anfield after an alleged agreement was struck.

The Brazil international would join fellow countrymen Philippe Coutinho and Roberto Firmino in an attack instructed by popular coach Jurgen Klopp, an exciting proposition for the Reds’ supporters.

Pato, now 26, scored 63 goals in 150 appearances in all competitions for AC Milan and if he came back to Europe displaying the same sort of capabilities, he would represent a real coup.

However, Liverpool supporters have offered a mixed response to the reports, as while acknowledging his raw ability, many wrote on Twitter that his injury record could be of some concern.
