West Ham moved back above Tottenham in to fifth place in the Premier League table after a 1-1 draw with Everton this afternoon.
The Hammers lost 2-0 to Watford last weekend and needed a big response, but were going up against an Everton side who thrashed Sunderland 6-2 last week.
They appeared to be heading towards a win when Argentine loanee Manuel Lanzini, who has earned plenty of plaudits already this season, opened the scoring.
The playmaker turned on the ball and guided a stunning shot past the despairing dive of Tim Howard and in to the top corner of the net, producing a sublime finish to put Slaven Bilic's men in front.
However, West Ham were pegged back just before half time, as Romelu Lukaku latched on to Gerard Deulofeu's pass, rounded Adrian and tucked the ball home.
That strike makes it seven consecutive games against West Ham with a goal for the Belgian, whose spectacular run of form against the Hammers continues.
Neither side could find a winner, leaving Bilic and Roberto Martinez to settle for a 1-1 draw in East London. The result leaves West Ham in fifth place, whilst Everton sit in eighth place after today's draw.
