The manager was keen to ensure focus turns to the big clash with Arsenal this weekend.
Spurs ran out 2-1 winners against the Belgian outfit during their Europa League group-stage clash, with a stunning strike from substitute Mousa Dembele securing all three points for the White Hart Lane outfit.
It was a hard-fought win for Pochettino’s side, who - unlike in the reverse fixture - stayed strong to secure the win after Anderlecht had leveled the scores.
And Pochettino was pleased with the effort his side showed during victory.
"I’m very pleased with the effort," he told tottenhamhotspur.com.
"The way Anderlecht played put us in a difficult situation but the way we competed and showed character is the way we need to take and follow."
The win will no doubt provide a big boost to Tottenham, with the north London side now turning their focus towards the Premier League and a certain upcoming north London derby against Arsenal on Sunday afternoon.
The clash with their fierce rivals will likely play a big part in this season’s battle for a top-four place, with the Gunners currently firmly challenging at the top of the table and Spurs as keen as ever on making the Champions League places.
And the Argentine boss has urged focus ahead of the chance for both north London rivals to deliver a crushing blow to one another.
"Now we need to focus," he added.
"There is no time to think too much because in two days we need to play the north London Derby and we know this is a very important game for us."
