The Hammers have enjoyed a superb start to the season, with wins over Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City, but manager Slaven Bilic has to be concerned with the defeats to Bournemouth, Leicester City and Watford.
That 2-0 loss to Watford last weekend was a huge disappointment, and manager Bilic will be hoping for a big response against Everton this weekend.
The Toffees had a tough run of games against Liverpool, Manchester United and Arsenal, but hammered Sunderland 6-2 last weekend in a thumping win.
Star performances from Romelu Lukaku and Arouna Kone guided Everton to victory, with the latter bagging a hat-trick against a torrid Sunderland side.
Everton will therefore be looking to build on that victory, but pundit Lawrenson has told BBC Sport that he expects a 1-1 draw this weekend, citing that Sunderland's defence contributed to Everton's huge win last weekend, whilst he also believes that West Ham's defeat to Watford could have a major detrimental effect on the team.
"The quality of Everton's goals last weekend was just outstanding, although Sunderland's poor defending has to be taken into account before I get too carried away," said Lawrenson. "That was just what the Toffees needed because, before then, they had been on a losing run having played some of the top teams."
"In contrast, West Ham had a really bad day at Watford and I just wonder what effect that will have on the way they approach this game," he added.
