Ian Holloway predicts Huddersfield-Leeds, explains what Evans will be working on religiously

Holloway & Freedman

The former manager and current pundit has been previewing Leeds' trip to Huddersfield Town on Saturday afternoon.

Ian Holloway has backed Leeds United to beat Huddersfield 2-1 during Saturday's early kick-off, according to his regular Sky Sports predictions column.

Steve Evans' side will contest another Yorkshire derby in the Championship and Holloway feels Leeds can earn their second win in two, having beaten Cardiff City earlier this week.

Indeed, the former manager believes Evans will have been working on his side's defensive solidity 'religiously' in training at Thorp Arch.

Holloway told Sky Sports, before predicting a 2-1 win for United:

"Steve Evans hasn't won promotion three times in the Football League for not being able to set up a team defensively and he'll have been working on that religiously on the training ground. Getting two banks of four to be organised is crucial when scrapping for results."

Holloway predicted a Cardiff win at Elland Road earlier this week. Naturally, that meant Leeds registered their first home win of the season - and in months.

Can Leeds make it back-to-back victories under Evans?

Huddersfield's new manager, David Wagner, only takes charge of the club on Monday, meaning the Yorkshire side have the opportunity to capitalise on a ship without a captain this weekend.

But who will Evans start when it comes to the defensive solidity Holloway has been discussing? Captain Sol Bamba missed the Cardiff game and Giuseppe Bellusci delivered a top performance in his absence...
