The Eagles boss believes that the Brazilian has been among the top five attacking players this season.
The Eagles host Jurgen Klopp’s side at Selhurst Park in the Premier League on Sunday looking to continue their decent form against the side in recent seasons.
It will likely be a tough test for them, though, with Klopp’s team sure to be full of confidence having beaten Chelsea in the Premier League last weekend and Rubin Kazan in the Europa League in midweek.
The star of the win over Chelsea was Brazilian attacker Coutinho, and Pardew believes that he has been among the top five attacking players this season.
"Liverpool carry great players and great players can change a game, like Coutinho at Chelsea," he told cpfc.co.uk.
“[He] is probably, at the moment, their best player in terms of the level he's at and I don't think anyone in the Premier League would disagree that he's been in the top five players, offensively, this year."
Given the quality that Liverpool have lost in recent seasons, with Suarez being sold and Daniel Sturridge unable to maintain his fitness, it is fair to say that Coutinho probably is the best player in this current Liverpool side.
When the going gets tough for the team, he is certainly the man that the side turns to try and create the bit of magic to turn things around, as proved the case against Chelsea.
After the disappointing start to the season, though, they will be hoping that he starts to hit a run of form to kick-start what has been a disappointing start to the campaign for them.
