Tottenham trio Son, Dier and Lamela will be key against Arsenal

Taking a look at three players set to have a vital role for Tottenham Hotspur this weekend.

Tottenham Hotspur take on Arsenal this weekend with Mauricio Pochettino knowing a victory for his team will see them move to within just two points of Arsene Wenger’s side.

As things stand Spurs are fifth in the table with 20 points while Arsenal are second on 25 points, behind current leaders Manchester City only on goal-difference.

With such a vital match for Tottenham coming up we take a look at three players Pochettino should definitely start on Sunday:

Heung-Min Son

South Korea international Heung-Min Son wasted little time making an impact at White Hart Lane but he has recently been side-lined through injury.

Now back and ready to make his mark on the North London derby, the 23-year-old is exactly the kind of player who can make a difference if Arsenal keep striker Harry Kane at bay.

Erik Lamela

Another star that can make the difference in what is sure to be a tight game, Erik Lamela has really started turning on the style this season and Pochettino could do with him doing just that against the Gunners.

The Argentine international was not in the squad when Tottenham took on Arsenal in the Capital One Cup earlier this season, but with four goals and three assists already in this campaign he simply must start on Sunday.

Eric Dier

The most obvious name on this list but also arguably the most important, Eric Dier has shone since reverting to defensive midfield and he will need to be at his absolute best against Arsenal.

Coming up against the likes of Francis Coquelin and Santi Cazorla, an in-form Dier could make his mark on this encounter and ensure Tottenham seal the victory.
