Tom Rogic is ready to sign a new contract at Celtic after coming into first-team contention this season.
Tom Rogic has told the Scotsman that he is enjoying life at Parkhead, after coming into the Celtic team this season.
Rogic moved to Celtic back in 2013, but injury has curtailed his progress at the club, with most his time being spent on the treatment table.
However, he is finally starting to show what he can do – and the Austrailian international is now keen to commit his future to the Bhoys.
“The club have made it known to my representatives that they would like to extend it and hopefully we can do that,” Rogic said.
“There is no doubt I am happy here and enjoying my football. I hope it can happen. It was just last week that they spoke, so it is still very early.
“We’ll wait and see what happens. When you see someone of Nir’s quality signing a new deal like he did this week, it can rub off on the rest of the team.
“The majority of the Celtic squad is quite young and everyone will be looking to improve.”
Rogic was always considered a bright talent at Celtic, but his failure to stay fit meant that his future had come into question.
However, he has responded to that pressure this term, and proven beyond all doubt that he has a role to play in Ronny Deila’s team.
Rogic has made 15 appearances for the Bhoys this season, and during that time he has scored four goals.
He will now be hoping to take his good form into Celtic’s Europa League match against Molde this evening, where he is expected to play a part.
