Sheffield Wednesday have kept three clean sheets in a row.
Lees has been the only mainstay in Wednesday’s side this season, and he has been accompanied by a number of different players in the heart of their defence.
However, more recently, he has settled with Loovens alongside him, and the pair have been in brilliant form.
And Lees said: “It’s weird, it [the partnership] just clicks,” he said. “Glenn is a good talker and great positionally but I wouldn’t say there is any real secret.
“We just read each other’s games quite well and help the boys either side of us.”
Loovens and Lees have helped Wednesday to keep three clean sheets in their last three matches, as the Yorkshire club have extended their impressive run of form.
The Owls are now unbeaten in 11 games in all competitions and their defence is proving to be very difficult to break down.
Carvalhal’s men have conceded just 16 goals over the campaign so far, and they seem to be getting stronger as the season progresses.
Wednesday will be hoping to make it four shutouts in a row when they take on a struggling Charlton Athletic side on Saturday, knowing that a win could take them into the Championship play-off places.
