Leeds United have an upcoming friendly that will enable their manager to run the rule over some rarely seen players.

The international break usually means fans of Premier League and Championship clubs have little choice but to wait patiently for domestic action to return while enduring what are usually very disappointing matches. But Leeds United fans will have the chance to watch their players in action later this month when they take on Wycombe Wanderers in a specially arranged friendly.

The news was announced on Wycombe’s official website on Thursday afternoon and while Leeds will reportedly take their strongest available side to the League Two club, Whites manager Steve Evans may also take the chance to run the rule over some of his fringe players.

Here we consider three Leeds players Evans should give some minutes to in the upcoming friendly:

Lee Erwin

Leeds striker Lee Erwin is now back at Elland Road following his loan spell at Bury and he could have a big role to play in the months ahead.

While Evans may be reluctant to throw him straight into Championship action, the match against Wycombe would allow Erwin to get some much-needed minutes under his belt and get a little more used to playing with his new teammates.

Casper Sloth

Just what Casper Sloth has to do to earn first-team recognition remains a mystery, but the Danish midfielder deserves a run-out against Wycombe as he bids to prove to Evans he has the talent to succeed at Leeds.

Lewie Coyle

The young right-back impressed his former manager Uwe Rosler during training and it is surely only a matter of time before Evans notices just what a talent the 20-year-old is.

Although Scott Wootton, Gaetano Berardi and Sam Byram are all currently ahead of Coyle in the pecking order, this match is the perfect chance for Evans to give the youngster some action.
