Leeds United are set to face Huddersfield Town on Saturday.
Leeds won their last match at home to Cardiff City 1-0, as they finally broke their Elland Road hoodoo.
However, Evans has suggested that he will need to assess whether the players who played in that tie will be fresh enough to play again at the weekend, as they put so much effort in on Tuesday night.
“We have the captain back [Sol Bamba], we have Tom Adeyemi back available and Lee Erwin is back from Bury,” Evans said
“We look at the opposition and consider what we’ve got. We look first and foremost about how the personnel are looking and whether they are looking fresh.
“The energy levels recorded on Tuesday evening against Cardiff City were really high, so we need to make sure that the team is picked fresh, hungry and ready to represent the most magnificent supporters.”
Bamba’s return is good news for Leeds, but the team did pick up a clean sheet on Tuesday night so there is no guarantee that he will come straight in.
The Whites finally have some momentum to build upon, but the demands of playing three matches in the space of a week is a test for any team.
As a result, Evans’ suggestion that he could look to freshen things up looks to be a smart strategy, as Saturday’s match is sure to be a fiercely contested Yorkshire derby.
Huddersfield have recently sacked Chris Powell, and their new players will be looking to put in a good performance to impress their new manager, which is said to be David Wagner by BBC Sport.
