Paul Dickov says that Steve Evans should be given time at Leeds United.

Paul Dickov said on the Sky Sports Now show on Sky Sports News HQ on Thursday morning that Leeds United should give Steve Evans time to prove himself.

“Steve is a proven manager,” said the former Leeds striker. “He has got success, and I hope he gets the time.”

Evans was appointed the Leeds head coach last month following the dismissal of Uwe Rosler.

Leeds chairman Massimo Cellino is known to be impatient with managers, and many will wonder if Evans will get the time he deserves to make the Whites a successful team.

The former Rotherham United manager has not been a popular choice, but the fans must back him.

Leeds returned to winning ways on Tuesday evening when they got the better of Cardiff City 1-0 at Elland Road.

It was the West Yorkshire outfit’s first win at home in almost eight months, and Evans will want to build on that.

The Whites will take on Huddersfield Town away from home in the Championship on Saturday afternoon.
