Report: Wolverhampton Wanderers want Ivan Toney from Newcastle United

Newcastle United have reportedly made Ivan Toney available for loan, with Wolverhampton Wanderers one of the interested parties.

According to a report in the Chronicle, Wolverhampton Wanderers are interested in signing Ivan Toney from Newcastle United.

Toney has been made available for loan by Newcastle, and Wolves are keen to take the youngster on a temporary basis.

Kenny Jackett is keen to strengthen his squad at Molineux, and even though he has recently brought in Grant Holt from Wigan Athletic, he feels that Toney still could have a part to play for his team.

Wolves actually tried to sign Toney, according to the Express and Star, when he was at Northampton Town last season, but the deal fell through at that time.

They clearly still admire the 19-year-old’s talent though, and it seems that a deal could be done between them and Newcastle in the near future.

The Magpies and Wolves have already done business this season, with Mike Williamson moving on a temporary move to the Championship side, meaning Toney will see a familiar face if he does arrive.

HITC ran a report yesterday which claimed Burton Albion were also interested in signing Toney, as they look to get promoted from League One.
