Tottenham are reportedly keen on making a January move for the former Manchester City striker.

According to a report by Yahoo Sport, Tottenham Hotspur are showing an interest in signing Alvaro Negredo in January, with his Valencia future in doubt.

Valencia head coach Nuno appears to have issues with Negredo’s performance levels in La Liga, and he has now been dropped for the last three league games, as well as the last two Champions League games.

He is not injured or short of fitness, and his absence has led to discussions about whether his future lies elsewhere.

The report claims that the name of Spurs has been bandied about for the past few weeks, and as the Lilywhites also have an interest in Sofiane Feghouli, it is obvious that they would enquire into the future of Negredo.

It is stated that a deal for Negredo in January would be a short-term loan, allowing the 30-year-old to act as more experienced cover for Harry Kane and Clinton N’Jie. This deal would likely include an option to purchase him outright at the end, should the forward impress back in the Premier League.

In England, Negredo is best known for the time he spent with Manchester City, when he scored 23 goals and registered eight assists in 49 games.
