Newcastle are keen to offload some outcast players in January.
Newcastle boss Steve McClaren is already preparing to review his squad in January and utilise the transfer market to keep the Magpies in the top flight, and a report in the Telegraph has named three players that the club are looking to sell.
Squad players who have not featured this term are the preferred outgoing transfers, with the report naming three players in particular as being on the transfer list.
Yoann Gouffran, Sylvain Marveaux and Mike Williamson are the three players listed for transfer, with Williamson already away from Newcastle. The centre-back is currently on loan with Championship side Wolves.
Gouffran has made two appearances for the Magpies this term, the same number as Williamson, whilst Marveaux is still recovering from injury and has only played in the Under-21 Premier League.
There are no indications that any clubs are so far looking at any of the trio, although Wolves could push to make Williamson’s loan move permanent in January.
McClaren is hoping to ease up the wage bill at St James’ Park, and the departures of these three players could allow Newcastle to bring in further reinforcements when the transfer window opens.
