New Aston Villa manager Remi Garde has been photographed taking training having recently replaced Tim Sherwood at the club, with the images posted on the club’s official Twitter account.
The former Lyon boss arrived at Villa Park on Monday and he has wasted little time in his bid to make an immediate impact at the club, banning the speaking of French among his players and setting about trying to get his team ready to cause an almighty shock in their upcoming match against Premier League leaders Manchester City.
Villa are currently bottom of the league having picked up just four points from their first 11 matches and Garde will pull off an absolute master-stroke if he can inspire his side to victory against Manuel Pellegrini’s men with just a week at the helm.
Whatever happens on Sunday, Garde’s role is clear: Pull Villa clear of relegation and ensure the expensively assembled squad start playing like a team after Sherwood made wholesale changes during the summer.
So…easier said than done!
