People News: Nomura, Citigroup, JPMorgan

Departure

Nomura has hired Michael Caperonis, the head of Citigroup’s equities trading for the Americas, for a broader leadership role in the Japanese bank’s securities division, according to a person with knowledge of the matter.

Bloomberg News reports that Caperonis will join Nomura as head of equities and credit trading for the Americas, the person said, asking not to be identified because the appointment hasn’t been announced.

In the meantime, Bloomberg also reports that JPMorgan reassigned an executive overseeing its global security, making him the second official in five months to take a new post after investigators linked stock fraudsters to a massive data breach last year.

Chief Security Officer Jim Cummings, who oversaw a team of more than 1,000 people, will move to Texas to work on military and veterans housing initiatives for the bank, according to a memo obtained Wednesday by Bloomberg.
