The former Arsenal forward has high hopes for his firmer team.
Arsenal take on Tottenham Hotspur this weekend knowing that they need to get back on the horse after falling off in some style in Munich this week.
Arsenal were thrashed 5-1 by Bayern Munich in the Champions League on Wednesday night and now need a win against their local rivals to continue their good form in the Premier League.
Spurs, however, are not doing bad in the league themselves. The club are unbeaten since the opening day of the season in the Premier League and will want to keep that record after facing their rivals.
One former Arsenal man does not, however, think that will be the case. Paul Merson has stated in his Sky Sports column this week that Arsenal will win the game 3-0. Explaining his prediction, the former Arsenal midfielder stated:
"This is a big game for Tottenham and a big game for Arsenal after the embarrassment against Bayern.
"When you consider the manner in which they lost in Munich, if Arsenal were to lose you could say Arsene Wenger would come under pressure again.
"Saying that, I do expect Arsenal to win, I'd be shocked if they didn't."
It is certainly easy to disagree with Merson but Arsenal have been rampant in the league recently. That being said, Tottenham have worked wonders on their defensive issues recently and do not look like shipping three goals easily, regardless of opposition.
