The drama surrounding Leeds United shows no signs of easing.
Many Leeds United fans may feel the time has come for their owner Massimo Cellino to part company with the club, but that is certainly not the feeling of all Whites supporters as seen by a recent online petition.
One Leeds fan has asked his fellow supporters to show their appreciation for the Italian, claiming the Elland Road outfit will be better off with Cellino in charge.
“Let’s show Massimo Cellino just how much we want him to stay,” the petition reads, but so far – despite the club’s huge fan-base – less than 900 fans have voted to say they do not want a change of ownership.
Cellino made headlines this week when it was announced – as reported by the BBC – that he would no longer be selling Leeds to supporters’ group LFU despite recent claims to the contrary. But that does not rule out a future sale with the businessman likely to seek the best possible deal if he is to ultimately move on.
Leeds are currently struggling in the Championship, although they did record their first win since Steve Evans took charge when they overcame Cardiff City 1-0 on Tuesday.
