Jim Beglin and Osvaldo Ardiles send messages to Tottenham’s Eric Dier on Twitter

Tottenham Hotspur youngster Eric Dier has been called up to the England national team for upcoming matches against Spain and France.

Former Leeds United defender Jim Beglin has taken to social networking site Twitter to give his reaction to Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Eric Dier’s call-up to the England national team.

Dier, who joined Tottenham from Sporting Lisbon in the summer of 2014, has been included in the Three Lions’ squad for upcoming friendly matches against Spain and France.

The 21-year-old is a very versatile footballer who can play as a right-back, as a centre-back or as a central midfielder.

Former Liverpool and Leeds defender Beglin has taken to Twitter to give his reaction to Dier’s call-up and has praised his aggression in midfield.

Tottenham legend Osvaldo Ardiles is also delighted to see Dier get the chance to represent the England senior team for the very first time.

Dier has been one of the best players for Tottenham so far this season and one of the better youngsters in the Premier League.

The 21-year-old has scored two goals and created three chances in 10 Premier League appearances for Spurs so far this campaign.

The youngster has a pass accuracy of 86% and a shot accuracy of 60%, and has won 26 headers, two dribbles and 24 tackles.
