It was a tight game, with no team reaching shot numbers in double figures, but it ensured that Wednesday remained within the hunt for a play-off place, or even automatic promotion.
One player who really stood out for the Owls was central defender Tom Lees, who lined up alongside Glen Loovens in the heart of the back-line.
Leeds, who started his career at Leeds United, made the move to Yorkshire rivals Wednesday in the summer of 2014. He impressed in his debut season with Wednesday, and many Leeds fans suggested that the club had made the wrong decision selling him to the Hillsborough club.
And once again, the 24-year-old proved himself as one of the most underrated and consistent defenders in the Championship, shielding the Wednesday goal from a Brighton side with a strong goal threat.
Following the game, Wednesday fans took to Twitter to praise Lees’ performance, with many claiming that they still cannot believe Leeds decided to sell the centre-half.
Good to see the defence looking as solid as ever along with the good football. Lees & Loovens always outstanding together #swfc— Ross Steele (@SP_Steele) November 3, 2015
Tom Lees put up for post match. Thoughtful and interesting as usual. Performances to match. What were Leeds thinking? #SWFC— Rob Staton (@robstaton) November 3, 2015
