The midfielder has just helped Norrkoping to a Swedish league title win.
Corriere dello Sport is reporting that Villa and Bournemouth are both keen on the former Iceland under-21 international.
The midfielder is currently plying his trade in Sweden with IFK Norrkoping, whom he joined in 2014 from hometown side Keflavik.
He has shone this season, scoring seven goals in 29 games in the Allsvenskan, from the midfield.
Indeed he was one of the star performers for the side this season as Norrkoping claimed the Swedish title by three points from IFK Gothenburg - their first league title since 1992.
He is just one of many players being linked with a move away from Norrkoping as a consequence but whether he would be right for Aston Villa or Bournemouth is up for debate.
Villa look like being in a relegation battle this season, as do Bournemouth and whether a 22-year-old with no experience of Premier League would be much help would remain up for debate.
