Citi Building Sign

Deutsche Bank plans to appoint North America equities head Thomas Patrick to run the firm’s global stock-trading business, a person with knowledge of the decision said.

Bloomberg News reports that Patrick, who joined the bank in 2012, also will oversee the company’s stock-financing operations, said the person, who asked not to be identified discussing personnel.

He’ll be based in New York and fill the vacancy created last month when Garth Ritchie, 47, was promoted to run the bank’s markets business.

In the meantime, Bloomberg also reports that Jefferies has hired Steven Kim, former head of U.S. Treasuries trading at Citigroup, to its Treasuries trading group in New York, according to a person with knowledge of the move who requested anonymity to discuss personnel matters.

The companies are among the 22 primary dealers that trade Treasuries with the Federal Reserve.
