Fabian Delph looks ready for comeback against Aston Villa this weekend

The Manchester City star can expect a frosty reception at Villa Park.

This summer Aston Villa lost three of their more experienced and key players, tearing out the spine of the team.

Ron Vlaar left on a free transfer, taking away solidity from the back four and much needed experience from the dressing room. Christian Benteke's departure for Liverpool took away the obvious, goals. But many would argue that Fabian Delph's move to Manchester City has hurt them the most.

The way he left Villa left a sour taste in the mouth and that might be why Villa fans seem to revel in his poor start to life at Manchester City.

Delph has mustered just 19 minutes of football for City since joining the club. He suffered an injury during pre-season against Real Madrid and then suffered a hamstring issue whilst playing for England against Switzerland in September.

He has therefore not played for City in the league since the 2-0 win against Watford at the end of August.

That could all change this weekend...against Aston Villa. He came on against Sevilla in the Champions League last night and then celebrated in some style:

Delph might just make his long-awaited Premier League comeback against his former team this upcoming Sunday at Villa Park.

Where he could receive a rather frosty reaction.
