Sunderland's under-18 forward has suffered a blow just when he was looking at his best.
The young forward only arrived at the Stadium of Light back in April, having previously represented Manchester City and Fulham, but despite a promising start he will now have to endure a long spell on the side-lines while he recovers from his setback.
Maja is a powerful forward who has the hallmarks to be a future first-team star for Sunderland, and while any senior debut is a long way off it is still a huge blow for a player who will have wanted to impress new manager Sam Allardyce with his performances for the Black Cats’ under-18s.
Anyone doubting Maja’s ability need only take a look at his brilliant assist in a recent clash against Manchester United, while he has already netted three times himself this season in a campaign that promised much.
He will now not be back in action until 2016 but he will be hoping he comes back stronger than ever at that point.
