Stan Collymore has pledged to buy shares in Leeds United to put towards the proposed takeover.
Stan Collymore once played for Leeds United's local rivals Bradford City - seen above evading a challenge from midfielder Lee Bowyer.
Nowadays he has forged a successful career as a pundit, and can often be heard on Talksport, clamouring for more power to be put into the hands of supporters.
He is greatly enthused by the current Leeds Fans United plan, to buy Massimo Cellino's stake in the club, with the owner telling The BBC last week he is willing to sell.
Collymore has now pledged to put money towards LFU, stating via his Twitter account that he is going to buy shares on their behalf.
It's an impressive gesture, even if as he states financially it will have a small impact, as it all adds up - and it would be refreshing to see more ex-professionals follow suit.
Collymore has no affiliation to Leeds, as mentioned, he even played for their rivals, while also took them on in the Premier League for Liverpool, Aston Villa, and Nottingham Forest, but he can see the big picture that this is a chance to get one of English football's biggest clubs back on it's feet - and away from Massimo Cellino - and it is an opportunity which must be seized.
