Mesut Ozil explains how Arsenal can defeat Bayern Munich again

The midfielder says there are two things they must do to secure the win in Germany.

Speaking to the club’s official website, Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil has explained how they can beat Bayern Munich again.

The Gunners travel to Germany on Wednesday evening looking to secure another big win against the German champions, having beaten them 2-0 at the Emirates in their last Champions League game.

That was the first time Pep Guardiola’s side have been beaten in 13 matches, and came from a highly accomplished performance, which saw them concede possession hit their opponents on the counter attack.

And Ozil has highlighted the two things they must do at the Allianz Arena to win again.

“Firstly, we need to believe in ourselves and secondly we need to be as disciplined as in the first game,” he told

“We know that they will have a lot of possession and that they will be going for the win. Our goal has to be to counter against them and make sure that we take our chances. Then we’ll have a good chance against them.”

The Germany star also says that they always have the belief they can compete with the big sides.

Arsene Wenger’s side are flying high at present, with them currently sitting joint top of the Premier League table alongside Manchester City and on a fine run of form.

That run has seen them put in big performances against the likes of Manchester United and Bayern in recent weeks, and Ozil says they know that they belong to the best.

“We’ve always got belief because we know exactly what we can do and we’ve got very good players in our ranks, who can be dangerous against every team,” he added.

“We know that and in Munich we want to show again that we belong to the best. We just have to play our game, be disciplined, believe in ourselves and then we’ll see if that’s enough against Bayern.”
