Romelu Lukaku has told Everton’s official site that playing alongside Gerard Deulofeu is a blessing for him.
Deulofeu joined the Toffees on a permanent transfer during the summer transfer window, and he struggled to break into their first-team over the early part of the season.
However, after showing his class in the Capital One Cup, the youngster has earned a place in his side’s starting line-up of late and he has been very impressive.
Deulofeu has laid on chances aplenty during his time on the pitch, and he hit the back of the net in Everton’s latest 6-2 win over Sunderland.
And Lukaku said: “Geri has brought what you expect from a winger - assists and goals. “He did that [against Sunderland], in the same way he did against Arsenal in the last game.
“He needs to keep his form going because he is a great player and it is a blessing to play with him.”
Deulofeu is a fans’ favourite at Goodison Park, due to the attacking threat that he possesses.
The 21-year-old is a natural with the ball at his feet, and his direct style means that he is one of the most exciting young players in the Premier League.
Deulofeu will be hoping to keep his place in Everton’s line-up for the foreseeable future, as the Toffees look to continue climbing the table.
