Rolando Aarons retweets criticism from Newcastle fans and has his say

St James Park

The Newcastle United teenager has commented after a fresh injury blow.

Newcastle United winger Rolando Aarons has taken to Twitter to respond to criticism after he suffered a fresh injury.

The 18-year-old is widely regarded as one of the most exciting and talented young players at St James’ Park but so far he has been limited to just 10 first-team appearances, in which time he has scored two goals and provided one assist.

A calf injury ruled Aarons out earlier in the campaign and now Chronicle Live reports that the player will be absent for a prolonged period of time just a week before he was set to make his return.

The latest report claims the Newcastle youngster suffered a fresh injury on Friday and is now on crutches as he begins his latest recovery.

That news did not go down well with some Newcastle fans who took to Twitter to express their frustration at another setback for the teenager, but somewhat surprisingly Aarons did not only send a message of his own, he also retweeted some of the comments criticising him.

One fan branded Aarons the new Kieron Dyer while another said Newcastle should have sold him to Queens Park Rangers last summer.

Aarons then had his own say, writing, “Frustrated is an understatement; you’re probably bored of seeing this but just gonna have to come back and prove a lot of people wrong…”

That message prompted tweets of support but it is clear some Newcastle fans – frustrated already by their poor season – are even more concerned now one of their most promising young players will not be seen for a while yet.
