Newcastle winger Rolando Aarons has suffered another injury.
Newcastle United winger Rolando Aarons faces another spell on the sidelines having suffered an injury to right foot during training.
Aarons, 19, burst on to the scene last season, scoring two goals in six games before spells on the sidelines with hamstring injuries.
Having earned comparisons to another Jamaican-born speedster in Raheem Sterling, the pacey wide man has long been considered as one of the top young English talents, but those injury concerns have led to the hype around him dying down recently.
Aarons worked his way back to full fitness and looked set to make his comeback to the Magpies first team later this month, but has now suffered another setback.
As reported by The Chronicle, Aarons suffered an injury to his right foot during training last week, and is now on crutches as he looks to make another comeback.
Newcastle fans have been reacting on Twitter ever since news broke about Aarons' injury, with many stating that they were gutted with the setback, as they believed that Aarons has the pace and direct running ability that Newcastle lack in the final third.
Others looked towards his contract situation, given that his current deal expires at the end of the season - and some even wonder whether he will be at Newcastle next season if he continues to be consigned to the sidelines.
Here are some of the reactions from Newcastle fans on Twitter after reports of Aarons' latest injury blow emerged...
Has Aarons signed a new contract yet? Kinda hard to have a bright future at #nufc without it.— Phil (@Lavanglish) November 3, 2015
Did Aarons sign a new deal? The lad has no luck #nufc— Karl Muirhead (@KarlMuirhead) November 3, 2015
Would love to see Aarons get big run of games in the team. Can't believe it's never happened yet, hopefully the injuries will stop #nufc— Ross Lindsay (@RossLindsay21) November 3, 2015
McClaren has to take some of the blame for Aarons. He had a perfect pre-season, fully fit, playing well then we left him to go stale #nufc— Brett Wilkinson (@brett1892) November 3, 2015
Aarons injured yet again. Massive shame for the lad and very frustrating. #NUFC— Ross (@_Jenky88) November 2, 2015
