Former Spurs hero Hazard commented on Tottenham’s win over Aston Villa.

Tottenham continued their great run of form as they search for a place in the top four this season, and Micky Hazard reacted on Twitter following their victory over Aston Villa.

Spurs secured a 3-1 victory over Villa, never really getting out on second gear after taking the lead in the opening stages of the game through Mousa Dembele.

Dele Alli doubled the lead just prior to half-time, and Spurs took the second period at a very laid back pace.

However, this almost cost Mauricio Pochettino’s side, as Villa got back into the game through Jordan Ayew, but they could not capitalise on their increased attacking threat, and Spurs picked them off on the counter attack, with Harry Kane continuing his hot streak with another goal.

The 22-year-old striker has now netted five Premier League goals this season, with four in the last two game, and the Lilywhites moved up to fifth place following the win - whilst they remain on just one defeat this season.

Hazard assessed the win in rather plain terms, although his view was one shared by many watching supporters.

Spurs did not really impress, and despite scoring three impressive goals, they were far from the best form they have shown this season. Yet Kane is back scoring, and that is always a positive to take after his slow start to the season.

However, this performance was one which showed Spurs may now have it in them to seriously fight at the top of the table. They picked up three points without really breaking a sweat, and winning games whilst playing poorly is the true sign of a top class team.
