Liverpool media round-up: Potential new appointment as Henderson steps up recovery, Lallana on Chelsea win

A selection of the latest stories in the media involving Liverpool Football Club this Tuesday morning.

Liverpool could be making another coaching appointment according to the Daily Express, after Borussia Dortmund parted company with their under-23 coach David Wagner.

Wagner and Klopp are close friends and could be reunited at Anfield and the Reds have refused to rule out a move for Wagner, who is said to be seeking a new 'sporting challenge'.

The report also provides an update on the fitness of captain Jordan Henderson, who is expected to step up his recovery from a broken foot after the international break.

Henderson has been sidelined since being substituted in the second game of the season with a heel injury which will also need testing, but he has started joining in with outdoor work in training.

Liverpool are back in Europa League action this week as they face a long trip to Russia to take on Rubin Kazan in Group B.

A win for the Reds would position themselves nicely in their bid to qualify for the knock-out stages of the competition, and the Reds head to Russia on a high after back-to-back wins in all competitions, including their first league win under Jurgen Klopp, when they came from behind to beat Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

Adam Lallana has been speaking to the Liverpool Echo, and he said: “You saw 11 players out there fighting for each other. You could see how much we wanted that win.

“It’s a step in the right direction but it’s important we don’t get carried away. It’s just one win, we’re by no means there yet.

“Now we need to think about Kazan and trying to improve our situation in the Europa League. They proved at Anfield what a good side they are. We need to rise to the challenge over there to keep this unbeaten run going.”
