Tottenham Hotspur defeated Aston Villa 3-1 on Monday evening.
Tottenham secured a comfortable victory over Premier League strugglers Aston Villa on Monday evening, and it was an especially memorable game for one Tottenham player, who just happened to be making his Premier League debut.
18-year-old Joshua Onomah followed up his appearance against Anderlecht in the Europa League by coming off the bench in the closing stages of victory over Villa, performing well in his short cameo.
He has now played three times for Spurs, with his debut coming in an FA Cup game last season, but this was the midfielder’s first ever Premier League appearance, and it ended in victory.
Highly rated at Spurs, there was a sense of intrigue as Onomah came onto the field of play for his Premier League debut, following the line of talented youngsters appearing for Spurs under Mauricio Pochettino.
Not only did the fans respond well to Onomah’s league debut, but his fellow Tottenham teammates commented in a positive fashion, after seeing Onomah take to Twitter following the game to react to his debut.
Thanks for all the messages! Buzzing to make my premier league debut. Hopefully first of many— Joshuaonomah10 (@Joshuaonomah10) November 2, 2015
After Onomah reacted to his debut, fellow Spurs stars Harry Kane and Ryan Mason also commented on Twitter, praising the youngster and suggesting that his Premier League appearance was the first of many.
