Kanu is only 15 years of age, but he was deemed good enough to play for the Hammers’ U21 team against their Brighton & Hove Albion counterparts away from home.
The youngster gave a good account of himself, as Terry Westley’s side won 2-1.
Following the match, schoolboy Kanu took to Twitter to revel in his achievement.
Happy to make my under 21s debut and to start. Also happy to win 2-1, with a great team performance. hopefully there's many more to come⚒— idris kanu (@idris_kanu_whfc) November 2, 2015
Declan Rice made his first Under-21 start for West Ham against Brighton, and he, too, was overjoyed.
West Ham are a big club in London and have one of the best academies in England.
The Hammers fans must be proud that there are a number of young and talented players in the youth team.
The senior side are doing well, too, and could end up in the top four of the Premier League by the end of the season.
