Derby County boss Paul Clement praises Queens Park Rangers' attacking options

Derby County take on Queens Park Rangers at the iPro Stadium later this evening.

Paul Clement has raved about the strength of Queens Park Rangers’ attacking quality on Derby County’s official site.

QPR have made a poor start to their Championship campaign, and they sit in 12th place in the current standings, but Clement is aware of the threat that they pose.

The R’s travel to the iPro Stadium to face Derby later this evening, and Clement claims that they have enough quality in offensive areas to cause his side problems.

“Queens Park Rangers are a very big threat offensively but it’s another opportunity for us to get three points,” he said.

“They have an interesting season so far, they are one of the highest goalscoring teams in the league but have actually conceded more than they have scored.

“They have big threats from their forward and wide positions with the likes of Austin, Fer, Emmanuel-Thomas, Chery, Phillips and Hoilett – they have a big offensive threat.”

QPR have looked very strong going forward this season, and have a number of players who have proven their quality in the Premier League.

The likes of Leroy Fer, Charlie Austin and Matt Phillips have all shown that they can score goals even at the top level, but the trio have not been able to fire their team up the table this season.

QPR have simply conceded too many goals to be successful, and only three times in England’s second tier have worse defensive records than Chris Ramsey’s side.

The R’s have conceded 23 times and if they are to stop that total increasing this evening they will have to be at their very best, as Derby possess one of the most dangerous teams in the Championship.
