He ranks him higher than the likes of Romelu Lukaku and Christian Benteke.
The Italian has been in fine form this season, scoring nine goals for the side, with the latest coming against Bournemouth in their 2-0 win at the weekend.
As a result of his height, strength and ability in the air, Pelle has gained something of a reputation as a stereotypical big centre forward so far in England, and it is something that the Saints have used to their advantage at times.
He does however boast a number of other fine aspects to his game though, and Cascarino has labelled him as the best centre forward in England.
“For me, Pelle is the best centre-forward in England,” he told Sky Sports.
“I'd take him over the likes of Christian Benteke and Romelu Lukaku. He is such a good player, his touch to set up the first goal was brilliant before heading in their second.”
Labelling Pelle as the best centre forward in the Premier League is certainly a bold call from Cascarino considering the quality forwards currently in the Premier League.
Many would say that Sergio Aguero arguably holds the crown, while the likes of Diego Costa and Daniel Sturridge would also be high in people’s estimations as well.
However, if they were being ranked on their ability to hold up the ball and play that role, then there is certainly an argument that he is certainly one of the best in that role.
