Nottingham Forest boss Dougie Freedman is scouring the transfer market for a goalkeeper on loan, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.
Freedman is sweating over the fitness of No.1 keeper Dorus de Vries after he was forced to miss Saturday's defeat to Sheffield Wednesday with a back injury.
De Vries' absence meant that young Bulgarian Dimitar Evtimov was handed his full debut for Forest against Wednesday.
It was a debut to forget for Evtimov as it was his error that allowed Fernando Forestieri to score the only goal of the game with a shot from the edge of the box which slipped under the body of the goalkeeper.
Freedman singled out the error as the reason his side lost at Hillsborough after the game and it is understood Freedman is now considering entering the loan market to see if he bring in a new goalkeeper to add to his options.
Forest have gone seven games without a win to drop down to 17th place in the table and Freedman is keen to bring in an experienced keeper rather than throw in youngster Evtimov for an extended run in the side.
Forest take on fellow strugglers Preston North End on Tuesday before a clash with arch-rivals Derby County on Friday and Freedman will be hoping he gets the go ahead to bring in a new keeper before those two games.
