Leicester’s Riyad Mahrez opens up on half-time team talk against West Brom

Leicester City defeated West Bromwich Albion 3-2 in the Premier League on Saturday.

Leicester City winger Riyad Mahrez has revealed on the club’s official website what the players discussed during half time against West Bromwich Albion on Saturday.

The Foxes defeated West Brom 3-2 away from home at The Hawthorns in the Premier League.

Claudio Ranieri’s side were actually 1-0 down at half time and staged a remarkable comeback in the second 45 minutes.

Algeria international winger Mahrez, who scored twice against West Brom, has revealed what he and his teammates spoke about during the half-time interval.

“We knew (we could again) from one goal because in the first half we played very well and only conceded a goal from a set play,” the 24-year-old told Leicester’s official website.

“We spoke at half time and said we can do it, we can make it happen again. Then we just played like we did always and scored three goals in the second half, which was very good for the team.”

Against West Brom at The Hawthorns, Mahrez scored twice, took four shots, had a pass accuracy of 69%, created one chance, put in six crosses, attempted three dribbles, and made one interception, two clearances and one block.

Leicester are third in the Premier League table at the moment with 22 points from 11 matches, just three points behind leaders Manchester City.
